Performance
Volkswagen is releasing the 2024 ID.4 in three distinct trim levels: Standard/Pro, S, and S Plus. Importantly for Denverites who face a range of driving conditions, you’ll have the option to choose between two battery capacities—62 kWh or 82 kWh—and either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The 82 kWh models come with a new performance drive unit that significantly amplifies its capabilities. The rear-wheel-drive model will now boast an impressive 282 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive option will churn out approximately 330 horsepower. This surge in power is not only poised to improve acceleration but is also expected to extend the EPA-estimated driving range, though specific numbers will be released closer to the vehicle’s market launch.
Interior Features
Technology-wise, the 2024 ID.4 is poised to offer an even more refined user experience. While the 62 kWh models will continue to feature the already standard 12-inch infotainment display, the 82 kWh versions are getting an upgrade to a larger, 12.9-inch display, complete with backlit sliders. The interface for climate control is being revamped for greater intuitiveness, and the steering wheel and shifter positions are being updated for enhanced ergonomics.
For those who prioritize comfort and premium features, the S models equipped with the 82 kWh battery will come with ventilated seats for the front row. If you opt for the S Plus model, you’ll be treated to a state-of-the-art harman/kardon™ audio system, complete with nine speakers, a subwoofer, and a 16-channel amplifier.
Safety Features
And let’s not forget about the exterior upgrades. The ID.4 Standard AWD models will be rolling out with larger 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, while the S Plus trim steps it up with 21-inch machined alloy wheels.
