Now that winter is over, it’s time to be checking out the state of your tires!  One important area to check is the inflation of your tires because poor inflation can really affect your drive negatively.  You can find a sticker in your driver-side doorjamb that will show your vehicle’s recommended tire pressure.  It should also be available in your driver’s manual.  You can fill your tires easily at a gas station that offers an air station!

When you’re checking out your tires, you should make sure to check the tread as well.  Tread provides you with the grip you need to stay on the road and needs to be deep to assure the best driving efficiency.  If you begin to see the tread wear bars on your tires, you’ll know it is time to replace all your tires!  You can also perform the penny test, where you use a penny and stick it into your tread with Abe Lincoln’s head upside down.  If you can see the top of his head, then your tread is too low and can lead to problems with handling and safety.

Here at Emich Volkswagen in Denver, Colorado we can help you replace your tires at our tire center even during the COVID-19 pandemic!  Our certified service technicians are standing by to inspect your tires and give you advice regarding your tires.  If you decide you are ready to replace your tires, we have a great selection where you can choose the best tires for your VW vehicle!  Click here to check out our full tire store, and enjoy the peace of mind of a 30-day price match guarantee and 24-month road hazard coverage.  Contact us today to set up an appointment!  Â
