2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI Receives Impressive Top Safety Pick Award

The brand new 2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI has just won an important safety award!  The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the newest model year of this hatchback the Top Safety Pick award.  Vehicles are only eligible for this award if they rate well in various strength and restraint tests, advanced front crash rating, and a good headlight rating overall.  The GTI earned good ratings in five different crashworthiness evaluations and did even better when certain safety features were equipped.  The GTI offers a full suite of driver assist technologies such as parking steering assist, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control.  One of the standard features on this model year is the automatic post-collision braking system which helps in your braking and airbags.  Plus, a few of the trim levels offer high beam control and light assist to improve your vision driving at night.
